The C-ROADS project aims to harness the potential of grassroots solutions to address climate change and achieve climate justice through community-based participatory approaches. To achieve this purpose, the project will combine a range of formal and informal learning and social development methods with interactive narratives, game-based learning and a learning app with the aim of enhancing participatory skills. Therefore, C-ROADS will define seven (7) learning pathways to support institutions involved in adult education to boost climate change awareness among individuals and their local communities.

R1: C-ROADS Educational App and Learning Path, will provide individuals with a set of tools to boost climate change awareness and proactive and influential engagement.
R2: C-ROADS Educational Escape Rooms, will be designed to create a meaningful context for individuals to solve different life challenges related to climate change and justice. These game-based learning exercises will also cover transversal learning competencies (critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication) and life skills (flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity and social skills), with the aim of empowering community engagement on climate action issues.
R3: C-ROADS Thematic Photovoice and Practical Guide for Educators. It has three specific objectives. First, to train adult educators in the photovoice methodology through an intensive online course. Second, to develop a practical guide for adult educators on using photovoice methodologies to empower individuals’ participatory capacities to better address climate change advocacy issues at the local level. Third, to support the participation of individuals in their communities to take action for climate change and justice by engaging them in local photovoice research.
