CIVIC GREEN

CivicGreen focuses on fostering civic engagement to address climate change and environmental protection. It recognises the importance of engaging citizens in climate action to achieve behavioural change needed to meet these challenges. The project is based on solid needs research and seeks to develop a European competence framework that empowers citizens and promotes their participation in the green transformation of society. In addition, it will provide an online platform, CivicGreen CitizenLab, to foster public participation and action on climate change-related issues.

Project Objectives:

Develop an innovative competence framework combining civic engagement skills and green competences, based on the European Green Deal and other relevant frameworks.

Create the CivicGreen CitizenLab platform, designed to boost public participation and citizen action on environmental issues, including civic engagement tools and a community of practice for educators.

Implement a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) for citizens, with the aim of encouraging behavioural change towards more sustainable patterns and reducing the carbon and environmental footprint of individuals.

Facilitate citizen participation in the formulation of environmental policies and regulations at local, national and European level, through the CivicGreen CitizenLab platform and civic monitoring tools.

Promote public awareness of the urgency of climate change and the need for collective and responsible action to address it.

This project seeks to address the identified needs and empower citizens to become active actors in the fight against climate change and the protection of the environment.
