Project Summary + Objectives

FOSTERCARE has been designed to increase the qualifications of professionals working with foster families to contribute to the well-being of children in care, the stability of placements and the professional development of those working to support them, the increase in social well-being and the recognition of the activities of foster families.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • To identify the needs of professionals working with foster families at European level.
  • To increase the basic skills of foster families through the development of professionals.
  • To increase the knowledge and skills of professionals.
  • To raise awareness of the foster family process.
  • To improve the quality of foster family processes.
  • To enable children in institutional care to establish healthy and lasting family relationships.
  • To produce accessible resources with digital learning tools.

Beneficiaries/ target group

  • Professionals who work with foster families: psychologists, educators, social workers, mediators
  • Foster families
