Summary and Objectives

FOSTERCARE is designed to increase the qualifications of professionals working with foster families to contribute to the well-being of children in care, the stability of placements and the professional development of those working to support them, the enhancement of social welfare and the recognition of foster families’ activities.

The main objectives of the project are:

  • Identify the needs of professionals working with host families at the European level.
  • Increase the basic skills of foster families through professional development.
  • Increase the knowledge and skills of professionals.
  • Raise awareness of the foster family process.
  • Improve the quality of foster family processes.
  • To enable children in institutional care to establish healthy and lasting family relationships.
  • Produce accessible resources with digital learning tools.

Beneficiaries/ target group

  • Professionals working with foster families: psychologists, educators, social workers, mediators, etc.
  • Host families
